Scotty McCreery: Opry Induction Is ‘A Dream Come True’

Scotty McCreery's Opry induction will take place this Saturday (4/20) and he will officially become the 227th member. When the country star steps into the legendary circle this weekend in Nashville, he will be inducted by Opry member Josh Turner.

“It’s unbelievable. I mean, I’m 30 years old, but I feel like I’m an old soul. I just have so much respect and appreciation for the Opry, the artists that have played it. Yes. But also like what the Opry has done and continues to do for country music and, to be a part of that family. It just blows my mind,” McCreery said.

McCreery is joining a long list of fellow Opry members who are also "North Carolinians" including Andy Griffith, Eric Church, Randy Travis,  Charlie Daniels, Ronnie Milsap, and more.

"It's really great company. I mean, all those folks we just mentioned are some of my heroes. I'm still a fan, you know, it's it's crazy to be a part of their same family, but, it's just life's greatest honor for sure," McCreery exclaimed.

Following McCreery's lifelong dream of becoming an Opry member, he will gear up to release his new album, Rise and Fall, on May 10. Some of the "McCreerians" out there have been lucky enough to get a taste of the new album while seeing him out on the road this year.

“This is legitimately the most proud I’ve ever been about a project, the songwriting, the whole unit, man. I’m excited for everybody to hear this. I hope they enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making this record,” McCreery said of Rise and Fall.
