Dylan Scott’s Son Is Becoming His Newest Stage Partner and He’s Already Stealing Hearts

Dylan Scott is known for his chart-topping hits and energetic performances, but during his recent appearance as a co-host on Backstage Country with Elaina Smith, he opened up about a new potential music partner—his own son.

While discussing his career and the stories behind his songs, Scott revealed that his 8-year-old son Beckett has started showing a strong interest in performing and may be following the same path that led his father to country music.

Dylan Scott’s Son Wants to Join Him on Stage

During the conversation, Smith brought up Scott’s hit collaboration “Boys Back Home” with Dylan Marlowe, noting that the song continues to be a fan favorite more than a year after reaching No. 1.

When asked the last time he and Marlowe performed the song together, Scott revealed that it had actually been quite a while—but his son has started stepping into that role.

“My little boy’s kind of taking the place of Dylan Marlowe here,” Scott joked. “He’s like, ‘Dad, I want to sing with you on stage.’”

Whenever Scott asks Beckett what song he wants to perform, his answer is always the same. “I ask him all the time, like, ‘Hey, what do you want to sing?’” Scott shared. “Yeah, I want to sing ‘Boys Back Home.’”

Beckett Is Growing More Confident as a Young Performer

Scott admitted that his son is still building confidence when performing in front of crowds, but he's impressed by his willingness to step onto a stage at such a young age. “He says he’s confident,” Scott laughed. “He’s real confident when he’s not on stage.”

The proud dad joked that Beckett talks about his dance moves beforehand, but sometimes those plans disappear once the lights come on. “‘Oh, Dad, yeah, I got these moves,’” Scott said. “Then he doesn’t do any of them.”

Still, Scott gave his son plenty of credit for having the courage to perform. “He’s 8 years old, walking out in front of that many people and singing and doing his deal,” Scott said.

While Scott isn’t pressuring his children to pursue music, he admitted that Beckett appears to have a natural talent. “I don’t know what my kids are going to do, and I don’t care,” Scott explained. “Whatever they want to do, I’m there for it.”

However, he acknowledged that Beckett already shows several musical abilities. “Beckett, he’s definitely got the ear for it,” Scott said. “He just picked up piano by himself. He’s playing little drums and stuff, and he sings on key. I’m just like, he’s got it.”

According to Scott, his son’s musical instincts appeared naturally—much like his own experience growing up.

“He heard something and sat down and started playing it,” Scott shared. “That’s what I did as a kid. So, he reminds me a lot of myself, but hopefully he can just be better than I am.”
