Dustin Lynch is not slowing down after releasing his new country album Clean Slate. In fact, the singer is already looking toward another musical world, EDM.
While co-hosting Backstage Country with Elaina Smith, Lynch revealed that he had already returned to the studio to record new country material while simultaneously developing more dance music.
Dustin Lynch Is Already Recording New Country Music
Lynch admitted that he has a hard time turning off his creativity. As Clean Slate reached completion, he and his team had already started recording new country songs. “There's waves of creativity that hit and I get fired up,” he revealed. “And so we've already gone back in to record new country music. I haven't finished the songs, but we've already recorded them.”
At the same time, Lynch has become increasingly invested in dance music. “What I'm working on over the holidays is more dance music. I want to continue that. We had four huge releases in 2026 with David Guetta, Illenium, Two Friends, Frank Walker.”

Lynch pointed to the worldwide reach of dance music. “It's everywhere. It's in every country. And I just love how collaborative and fun that space is.”
A Global 2027 Vision
Lynch now hopes those collaborations will lead to festival appearances in countries he has not yet visited. “The vision board is to get to go to some of these festivals as we continue to have these collaborations. It'll give me enough music to play,” he said.
Lynch specifically mentioned Portugal as a potential destination for writing and creating music, even joking about escaping Nashville’s rainy February weather.
He also sees the growing overlap between country and EDM as a sign of where the next generation of music fans is heading.
For Lynch, the timing feels right. His country career gave him the platform, while his willingness to explore new sounds is opening another door.
