Former Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin will be visiting Joplin next month as part of a fundraiser for Life Choices, a clinic and resource center for people dealing with pregnancy or STD situations. In previous years they've hosted speakers like Dr. Ben Carson or former Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee. Carolyn Schrage of Life Choices tells News Talk KZRG Palin's appearance will mean having to move to a bigger venue.
"We never thought we'd get to a point where we outgrew the largest convention venue in town, so having to make this change is really pretty exciting, to know that this is a community that believes in the value of life."
Palin will be discussing the difficulties of raising a child with Down Syndrome, according to Life Choices' Rita Lawson:
She faced an adverse pregnancy diagnosis while she was Governor of Alaska. Then she had a teen daughter dealing with an unplanned pregnancy situation while she (Palin) was running for Vice President. So Governor Palin understands, very well, some of the things that our clients experience."
The event will be September 25th at Missouri Southern State University. Tickets will be available starting August 25th, either online at LifeVoices.org or by calling 623-0131.
