It seems the rain is causing a minor hiccup with MoDOT opening the second lane of the Highway 171/43 roundabout Thursday. MoDOT's Dave Mitchell tells News Talk KZRG what still needs to be finished before it opens Friday.
"We're not being able to stripe the way that we had hoped we were going to be able to. There needs to be a certain amount of dry weather so that the stripping will dry appropriately."
Mitchell says MoDOT is still on track for completing the rest of the road construction, which includes widening Highway 171 to five lanes between Route 43 and Fir Road by the end of August, as well as pouring concrete islands, and adding the proper signage to the roundabout.
