The Joplin Boys and Girls Club got a special donation Friday: ten bicycles built by the group that's also building the new Mercy Joplin hospital. Rhonda Gorham, the club's executive director, tells News Talk KZRG how they'll distribute the bikes among their 300+ kids.
"We're setting up a reward system this summer for our kids. They can earn points by performing community service, showing good character, good leadership, and helping others out. At the end of the summer, we'll reward ten kids with a new bike."
The McCarthy Building Company made the donation as part of their 150th anniversary celebration, where McCarthy workers across the US have united to help charities and non-profits.
