"We previously have had seven different Bachelor's degrees, but primarily in the humanities and social sciences. With this listing, it allows us to expand in all the different divisions of the college."
Three years ago, Cottey was allowed to offer four year degrees along with two year associate degrees. News Talk KZRG asked Cottey director of public information Steve Reed how people should think of the college. "We used to call ourselves a two year college, then we called ourselves a two year college with select four year degrees. Now we just call ourselves a womens college because we think we're expanding far enough down the road, that we're pretty soon going to be a full baccalaureate institution."
Cottey is the only nonsectarian college in the US that's owned and supported by women for women.
