Missouri voters will be asked to vote on a constitutional amendment next month that guarantees the "right to farm." Neosho State Representative Bill Reiboldt tells News Talk KZRG what Amendment 1 is all about:
"The basic scope of this amendment, constitutionally, is similar to the right to bear arms. It's basically to give the farming community some additional protection, constitutionally, going into the future... we're being threatened by some outside, out of Missouri, organizations that want to put unreasonable restrictions on Missouri agriculture."
Opponents say the measure will hurt attempts to regulate food safety and the treatment of livestock.
