"For the fiscal year, we are basically flat. We're up 0.16%."
Joplin finance director Leslie Haase tells News Talk KZRG while June's revenues are down, in May, sales tax revenue was up 42%. "We never look at one month. We look at the year to date change over a time period. So right now, we're basically right on with budget."
Haase says one reason for the swings is timing; when money arrives at the state office determines when the state can pay it out to cities.
