North Park Mall celebrated the grand opening of a new play area sponsored by Freeman Health System as part of the hospital's focus to better the lives of kids. Located next to the Women's Macy's store, hundreds of kids could be seen playing. 5-year-old Duke says his favorite part was climbing through a tunnel, but there's also a lot other fun stuff to do.
"You can slide on the play sets, pretend you're on a boat, and car. Then walk on a bridge, and stuff."
Freeman CEO Paula Baker tells News Talk KZRG why this project is so important to them.
"To be able to provide this place for them, to enjoy and entertain themselves when mom and dad bring them to the mall makes us very, very happy. It's just one more commitment that Freeman has made to the children and families of our region."
As part of the grand opening, kids could also get their face painted, make animal balloons, and enjoy a free lunch.
