MSSU Receives Dental Grant

People with low incomes who need dental care will be able to get it, thanks to a grant Missouri Southern State University has received from the Missouri Foundation For Health. Dr. Tia Strait, dean of Missouri Southern's school of health sciences, tells News Talk KZRG what services would be available.

"The funding for this grant is to go for adult oral health treatment.  And that can be (anything) from preventive care such as cleanings and x-rays, to restorative fillings and extractions."

Strait says it wouldn't include full-scale dentures. The Community Clinic of Joplin, Access Family Care and the ACHE clinic are also taking part in this program.

You can apply for this dental care by going online to, or by calling 417-624-5500.
