With the Memorial Day weekend underway, you'll be seeing plenty of Missouri State Troopers on the major roads. Sergeant Mike Watson with the State Highway Patrol tells News Talk KZRG they have several enforcement efforts underway.
"One is Operation C.A.R.E., which stands for Combined Accident Reduction Effort. During the weekend we're going to have every officer out, enforcing traffic laws and assisting motorists."
Watson says there will also be extra enforcement on the water, too, since Memorial Day weekend is the traditional start of boating season in Missouri.
"We are going to have an increased presence around the rivers in McDonald County, and around Table Rock, Stockton, and other bodies of water."
Watson says over last year's Memorial Day weekend, there were 7 boating crashes statewide with one fatality and three injuries... and thankfully, no drownings.
