Duquesne Man Arrested For Taking Car



A Duquesne man is in custody for allegedly taking someone's car and credit cards for a joy ride. Joplin Police say they were called to the Wendy's on South Range Line around 4:40 Tuesday afternoon by a woman who said someone had taken her keys from her table when she wasn't looking. She saw her car was gone..and her purse and a friend's purse were still inside the car.

"One of the victims received a fraud alert e-mail from one of her credit cards indicating that it had been used at the Toys R Us and Ross Dress For Less in Joplin."

Joplin Police Lieutenant Matt Stewart tells News Talk KZRG Police checked surveillance video at the stores and got a description of the suspect. That suspect was found shortly after 6. 34-year-old James Landrith of Duquesne was arrested for first degree vehicle tampering, felony DWI and felony driving while revoked.  Stewart adds Landrith could face additional charges for using the credit cards; the investigation is still ongoing."
