Davis Responds to Gov's Withholding of Education Money

Missouri Governor Jay Nixon says he plans on withholding $22-million from this fiscal year's education budget. Nixon made the announcement Thursday, saying lawmakers didn't approve enough money in their spending plan. Webb City State Representative Charlie Davis disagrees.

"We put $44-million into K-12 education. $22-million up front and another $22-million when we get closer to the end of the fiscal year. For him to withhold money, especially during a surplus, is ludicrous."

Davis tells News Talk KZRG Nixon does this every time lawmakers propose a tax cut. Two tax cut proposals are currently making the rounds at the Capitol right now.
