Joplin Police Investgiating "Suspicious Death"



At 9:58 this morning, the Joplin Police received a call regarding a body that was found at 1832 West 24th Street Apt. B. Right now, the case is being treated as a suspicious death. Lieutenant Brian Lewis shared what few details they had about with News Talk KZRG about the victim that he says was in his 60's.

"It is a male subject that is deceased. Other particular information about the victim is being withheld until the next-of-kin is notified."

Update 4pm: Joplin Police Lt. Brian Lewis tells News Talk KZRG why this is considered a suspicious death.  "Based upon the scene, we have determined it is a homicide.  As such, we called in the Tri-State Major Case Squad to help us follow up leads."

Lewis adds an autopsy has been scheduled.  News Talk KZRG will update you as the story develops.
