It's official: a Carthage man found dead Monday evening was murdered.
"An autopsy was done in Kansas City. We know now that the manner of death was homicide. We've already been treating this as a murder from the beginning, but now we are doing so officially," says Police Chief Greg Dagnan.
Dagnan tells News Talk KZRG 15 to 20 investigators are interviewing "a number of people" about what happened, and doesn't want to say yet what the cause of 87-year-old Raymond Ritchhart's death was, nor is he saying yet whether or not this was a robbery gone bad.
"Because of the interviews we're doing, I don't really want to comment on that. We wouldn't want to tip off anyone that we're talking to, and give them information that they wouldn't know unless they were there."
Richhart's body was found in his home, after authorities got a 911 call about a man who had "fallen."
