MO Lawmakers Pass Boeing Bid

Missouri lawmakers have passed a proposal to try and convince Boeing to build a facility for building 777X passenger jets in St. Louis. State Representative Charlie Davis tells News Talk KZRG it doesn't make the project a done deal.

"Governor Nixon is going to sign this immediately, but just because this happened doesn't mean Missouri got the bid. Missouri is competing with 16 other states, 5 of which are strong possibilities to get this contract."

Under the proposal, Boeing would $150 million in tax incentives and breaks, spread among programs like Missouri Works, aimed to encourage new employment. Davis says if Missouri lands the contract, it could mean at least 8,000 new jobs.
