For the first time in over ten years, Galena put on a Holiday Homes Tour, showcasing six homes for the public over the weekend. Tickets were sold out, which raised money for the revitalization of the city. Sheryll Vogel with the Galena Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Committee tells News Talk KZRG about some of the homes.
"We had six houses of people that were on the tour. Three were 100 years or older, one was built in 1924, and one was built in the 70's. Some of our proceeds will go toward the work we put in on our downtown and our streetscape, also other activities to support the downtown area."
Vogel says since this year was such a hit, they're already planning next year's tour with more homes.
