Joplin School District Celebrates Nearly 87% Grad Rate
86.6%. That's the current graduation rate of the Joplin School District, as announced by Superintendent Dr. CJ Huff at a special dinner Thursday night. Huff tells News Talk KZRG it's a milestone he's proud to see reached.
"We're really excited. It's been a long time coming. Everyone's been working so hard, and our goal is to save every child, and we're going to keep after it until we do. When we started this effort, it was a full-court press kind of effort. It's really about people and relationships, and the number of community and staff members that stepped up, took kids under their wing and guided them toward better choices."
It's also a significant jump for the School District, as last year's graduation rate was 78.5%.
