Joplin City Council Falls Short in Vote to Oust City Manager
An attempt by members of the Joplin City Council to fire City Manager Mark Rohr fell short Monday night. It happened after the Council's regular meeting, in a closed session vote, the results of which were posted yesterday afternoon at City Hall.
The vote was 4 in favor, 3 against and 2 abstaining, meaning the effort fell short. According to the record, Mayor Melodee Colbert-Kean and Alderman Morris Glaze didn't vote, while Mike Woolston, Mike Seibert, and Gary Shaw voted against the idea.
There's no word yet on just why the motion to seek Rohr's resignation was made; News Talk KZRG will update you as this story develops.
