Bucklew Pleads No Contest to Son's Death

An Arma woman accused in the smothering death of her 4-month-old child has pleaded "no contest" to involuntary manslaughter.

Deputy Crawford County Attorney Reina Probert tells News Talk KZRG Heather Buckalew will be sentenced on September 3rd. She fell asleep on a couch with her son, Memphis, in August 2012, and ended up smothering him in her sleep. She faces anywhere from 31 months to 11 years in prison, but Probert adds that since Buckalew doesn't have a prior criminal record, she'll be sentenced on the lower end of that range or could even possibly get probation.
