Coca-Cola kicked off a new milestone in Joplin today by holding a grand opening for their new 56,000 distribution center. Distribution Manager Jarret Boyce tells News Talk KZRG Coke has been in town for a long time, and they're hoping to stay for a lot longer.
"We've been proud to call this city home for more than 100 years. We've been in Joplin longer than any other business, and that's something we're very proud of."
Governor Jay Nixon tells News Talk KZRG Joplin is a prime example of how to get job growth right.
"It takes visionary men and women of business, a dedicated workforce that comes in early and stays late, dedicated city and state leaders, and schools that not only produce graduates that are ready to step into jobs that are in demand but also continually update themselves and the services they provide."
The 56,000 square foot expansion means an additional 50 jobs for the community.
