Trees Planted In Joplin

A Joplin neighborhood has some new additions: Trees. Some three dozen volunteers from the Missouri Community Forestry Council planted trees Wednesday on Porter, Annie Baxter and Empire in the tornado-damaged area of town. Ric Mayer with the Missouri Department of Conservation tells News Talk KZRG where the trees came from.

"This particular set of trees was donated by the Resource Conservation and Development Association, which is basically a conservation group that supports conservation action.  And hey, we're planting trees in Joplin."

Mayer says the group has planted 4000 trees in Joplin and Duquesne since the May 2011 tornado and more are on the way.
