Webb City Man Admits to Tornado Fraud



A Webb City man pled guilty in federal court today to lying to FEMA in a failed attempt to fraudulently receive federal disaster benefits after the Joplin May 2011 tornado. US Attorney Tammy Dickinson tells News Talk KZRG 35-year-old Russell Green admitted he told FEMA that his home had been destroyed in the storm; it turns out he wasn't living in the apartment at the time, and his girlfriend, who the apartment belonged to, had moved out before the tornado struck. He faces a fine of up to $250,000 and five years in prison without parole.
