Joplin Firefighters Undergo Training

Joplin firefighters are participating in a week long structural collapse incident course taught by the University of Missouri Fire and Rescue Training Institute. Fire Training Chief, Andy Nimmo tells News Talk KZRG why they're taking the course.

"Basically it's just designed to teach our guys how to get people rescued from buildings that collapse through natural distaster so it's a great opportunity for us to be prepared to handle those types of emergencies."

The operations and technicians course is a 2 week course, paid for by a grant through Homeland Security.
