Joplin Councilman's Rant Against JPD Officer Caught on Tape

Last September, Joplin Councilman Dr. Benjamin Rosenberg was stopped by Joplin police for driving with his dog in his lap... something he had previously been warned not to do. Upon receiving a citation, Rosenberg demanded the officer's information, including badge number so he could complain to now-retired police chief Lane Roberts about the issue. Chief Jason Burns tells News Talk KZRG in the eyes of the law, your social status doesn't matter.

"I think it's important that officers don't judge people by their positions or status in the community, and if a ticket needs to be issued, no matter their social status, it gets done."

Rosenberg paid the $26 fine. We've reached out to him, but at the time of this report was unavailable for comment.
