The Joplin City Council wants some help with finances. Monday night, the Council voted to set up a financial committee that would help them on large scale projects. Mayor Melodee Colbert-Kean tells News Talk KZRG why the committee was formed.
"There are different things we need to oversee, and they're going to give us advice on what types of investments to look into, that sort of thing. This committee will exist to be around when we need them."
Colbert-Kean says this financial committee will only meet when the City Council wants their input. She says they're looking for people with a financial background to serve on this committee.
