Hey kids! I'm Jenn Barnes from Morning KIX!

I grew up in a tiny town in Central Illinois and have been involved in radio since I was 8 years old!  I was involved in a youth radio program at the local country station, and by 16, I was working there part-time.  I went to college at Eastern Illinois University (Go Panthers!) and received a degree in Communication Studies, all the while working for the student radio station as an afternoon DJ, and later a morning show co-host.  After graduation, I returned home, and worked there until moving to Joplin!

As you can probably tell, I absolutely love working in radio!  Come on...I get paid to be a goof all morning and listen to great music.  You can’t go wrong there!  I L-O-V-E country music...some of my favorites include Blake Shelton, Sugarland, Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts, Carrie Underwood and Randy Travis…ok, so I have a lot of favorites...and there are still a bunch more! 

I’m also a huge TV nerd. I will not answer the phone or doorbell when LOST or Grey’s Anatomy is on...and usually after watching, I feel qualified to give my friends medical advice.  I also love sitcoms like Friends, The Office, How I Met Your Mother, and The Big Bang Theory.  I recently discovered DVR and I'm convinced it's the best invention in the entire world. I’m a big fan of theatre, especially musicals, so if you ever pull up next to me in traffic you’ll probably catch me singing, as obnoxiously as I can!  I also love going to movies, and hockey games, eating sushi, shopping, and laughing!
