A pavilion project in Carl Junction has hit a snag after a ruling that the State of Missouri's prevailing wage law applies to its construction, despite it being a volunteer project. Joplin State Senator Ron Richard has a problem with that.
"The states of California and Wisconsin have prevailing wage laws that don't apply to projects by volunteer organizations, like what we have in Carl Junction. If they don't have such laws it's silly to have them in Missouri."
The Carl Junction Board of Aldermen will be talking about their options for the project tonight at 7pm.
