Attorney General to Seek Info on Joplin City Council Investigation

The Missouri Attorney General's office is now getting involved in the controversy over a Joplin City Council investigation.

In an email to News Talk KZRG, a spokeswoman for Attorney General Chris Koster says they've received several complaints from Joplin residents who think the Council violated the Missouri Sunshine Law by withholding part of the investigation that led to the firing of former City Manager Mark Rohr. The Council says those pages were withheld because of confidential personnel matters, but a Jasper County Judge has ordered their public release.

The AG's office says they'll be requesting info from the City in the form of a letter "in the coming weeks," and that the investigation will not be on-site.
